The Early  Care Center  is open Monday - Friday 7:15 am to 5:45 pm

The First United Methodist Church has responded to the need in our community for safe, dependable day care by offering its facilities and enrichment experiences for young children in a Christian environment. The Early Care Center of the First United Methodist Church is open to children of all races and creeds. Presently, Early Care Center serves families with children ages 6 weeks through School Age.

Foods and Formula

Parents provide their child’s lunch and formulas which are refrigerated and heated at the center. The center provides nutritious snacks both morning and afternoon.

The Early Care Center Program

Provides a safe and healthy environment and is staffed with loving, qualified caregivers.

Indoor and outdoor play areas with age appropriate toys, equipment and curriculum help stimulate each child’s mind. Our program encourages curiosity about the child’s world language development and self-esteem with positive reinforcements.

It also provides social opportunities to learn new experiences and a Christian environment to allow children the opportunity to experience the wonders of God’s love for them.

We Understand  and value the importance of “Parents as Children’s First Teachers”.

We encourage creative expression through Art, Music and Creative Movement.

Encourage parents to visit or have lunch with their children.

We are Accredited by the United Methodist Association of Preschools and we Participate in the Florida VPK program offering 3-hour and wrap-around services.

The Staff

Our caregivers are chosen for their experience in working with infants and young children. Each employee has had background screenings which are cleared by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Florida Abuse Hotline Information System, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). All staff members have completed a state required course in child care, ten extra hours of child development, five hours of early literacy training, First Aid, Infant/CPR plus yearly updates of early childhood education.

Location

The Early Care Center is conveniently located in the downtown Sarasota Financial District near Five Points. It is located on the ground floor of the Family Life Building in the First United Methodist Church. The entrance on Mira Mar Court is very accessible to parking for easy delivery and pick-up of children
