Non Conforming Discussion on Challenges to Faith & Religion
For Real Men, Right Now!
Reminding all men of faith, who may be looking for something to do outside of Sunday mornings at the First Church.
All men are invited for a time of fellowship, and discussions on current topics that impact today’s men who are searching for an authentic, working faith in Christianity.
This will not be like your father’s Sunday school class time, but a timeout for honest talk on the real challenges men of faith face everyday. The subjects covered will be on each man’s role, such as a husband, a family man, a working man and a praying man of faith. Come with an open mind to stretch your preconceived thoughts of religion’s role in everyman’s daily life.
All men of faiths or even non-faith are welcomed to attend!
GET REAL & GET THERE

Women’s Spiritual Growth Small Group
Wednesdays Room 104 at Noon
For six weeks beginning January 6, the women will study God Is Closer Than You Think - This Can Be the Greatest Moment of Your Life Because This Moment Is the Place Where You Can Meet God - by John Ortberg. If God is always with us, why is He sometimes so hard to find? Ortberg shows how to find God’s presence in the day-to-day routines of life. This study will reveal that God’s desire is to be with His people as we experience God’s presence and cultivate an intimate connection with Him. Participants bring a bag lunch. The cost of the book and participant’s guide is $20. Registration will be at the Ministry Table on Sundays, December 6 and 13.
Women’s Book Club
Monday, January 11 Room 104 at 10 a.m.
The Good Nearby by Christy Award winner Nancy Moser captures the reader to show that sometimes good things are nearer than expected. The tribulations of five women and a lonely little girl are narrated in alternating stories of lost love, health crises and broken spirits. The characters find that the key to a rich, fulfilled life is closer than they think as God takes our pain and makes beauty. Each participant is requested to obtain her own book.
