Earth Stewardship News

Beavers Sign Up to Fight Climate Change Beavers are back in demand for their engineering and dam-building skills. During periods of drought, wetlands hold much more water when beavers are present. Washington State plans to reintroduce beavers to 10,000 miles of suitable habitat. This would help retain 650 trillion gallons of spring runoff at a small fraction of the cost of building conventional dams. If this pilot program is successful, our bucktoothed furry friends will join the ranks of nature’s conservationists.
